Roxwell - The Upcycled Travel Tote

LPOL launches the Roxwell, a limited edition 90% recycled vintage supersize tote and weekender

“Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.” William Morris

This April 2021, British design brand LPOL who are known for their timeless and purposeful bags, are launching the Roxwell - a limited edition recycled vintage travel tote made from original William Morris printed Sanderson fabric.

Taking inspiration from the pioneering Arts and Crafts movement that Morris became associated with, The Roxwell is a celebration of great craftsmanship. Leading the revival of traditional British textile designs and production methods, William Morris’ hand drawn organic forms and plant-based motifs went firmly against the mainstream focus on mass production in the Victorian era. Staying true to this philosophy, every Roxwell is meticulously handcrafted in LPOL’s London workshop mixing tradition and technology to give these timeless British artworks a second life.

“William Morris’ iconic designs have always stood the test of time and it is an honour to repurpose them now for our modern audience”. Katy Maskell Bell

This unique and ethical bag has been cleverly designed to provide space and structure to fit all your kit, making it the perfect companion for new adventures. With handy exterior and interior zipped pockets to keep things organised, the supersize tote is great for weekends away or picnics in the park. It has two leather handles and an adjustable shoulder strap making it both comfortable to wear and incredibly durable. Each bag is lined with surplus cotton for extra luxury and it’s soft tactile fabric means it can be packed neatly into a suitcase.

The Vintage Roxwell comes in Sweet Briar & Golden Lily original William Morris printed Sanderson fabric, sourced both online and locally from vintage fairs across Britain. The collection also includes three surplus canvas bags made from a dead stock 10oz cotton canvas sourced from a long-established British mill.

LPOL have proudly pioneered a zero waste production method at their workshop whereby all material waste and off-cuts are retained and used to produce small goods, one-off gifts and artist collaborations. To further reduce their impact on the environment, LPOL’s packaging is recyclable, biodegradable and responsibly sourced.
